It's here. Seedance 2.5, ByteDance's latest AI video model, is live on Seedance Studio today. Open the studio and it's already the default model behind your prompt box, on every plan, at no extra cost.
This is the biggest jump the Seedance family has made in one release: longer clips, dramatically more reference inputs, and a new way to fix details without re-rolling the whole generation.
What's new in Seedance 2.5
- 30-second clips. Double Seedance 2.0's runtime, in a single generation. Enough for a full ad, a verse of your track, or a story with a beginning, middle and punchline.
- Up to 50 references. Feed it your whole brand kit, a full cast of characters, a shot list. The model reads each one's role and keeps every one of them straight.
- Redraw anything. Frame-local editing. Wrong hand, wrong logo, wrong sky? Fix just that detail while the rest of your clip stays exactly as you approved it.
Everything you already rely on carries over: native stereo sound with lip-synced dialogue, multi-shot scene planning, and output up to 4K in six aspect ratios.
The new default, on every plan
There's no new tier and no upgrade fee. Seedance 2.5 is simply the model behind your prompt box now, same plans, same prices, same allowances. The free plan runs it too (480p, watermark included). Seedance 2.0 stays available in the model picker, so anything you built on it keeps working exactly the same.
How to try it
- Sign in (or create a free account, no card required).
- Write a prompt, or add references and tag them with @ mentions.
- Pick a duration up to 30 seconds and hit Generate.
For developers
The Seedance API now runs Seedance 2.5 as well: same async endpoint, up to 50 references per request and 30-second outputs. API access is included on every paid plan.
