What is Seedance 2.0?
Seedance 2.0 is an AI video generation model from ByteDance Seed, the research group behind TikTok. It is a multimodal model: you can prompt it with text, images, video clips and audio, and it returns a coherent video with camera direction, consistent characters and native sound.
Released in February 2026, Seedance 2.0 topped both text-to-video and image-to-video in the independent Artificial Analysis arena, and it remains available on Seedance Studio alongside its successor, Seedance 2.5. You get a simple prompt box, no downloads, and a free tier to start. Developers can also call it through the Seedance API.

Multimodal references
Combine up to 12 references (9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio tracks) in one generation. Tag them right in the prompt ([Image1] walks through [Video1]'s location wearing [Image2]'s jacket) and the model keeps every role straight.
Native sound and dialogue
Stereo music, ambient effects and character speech are generated with the picture, synced to the action. Put a line in quotes and your character says it, lip movement included.
